The Thirst Water Project
The Thirst Water Project is an organization that contributes to giving fresh, clean water to many people that are in need of it. The Thirst Water Project was born on the year of 2007 and it was created by a few students that attended college. This organization is trying to solve the problem of many people who are in need of clean water to stop drinking the dirty, contaminated water. The problem due to lack of easy access or no access to clean water in some countries is that the water is too far. For example, in Kenya, many young girls have to walk 3.75 just to get water which leaves them no time to attend school. The solution to giving these people clean water is to donate so the people of this organization can have the ability to build wells. People that lack the access of clean water may get sick, have infections, and die due to drinking contaminated, dirty water.
In order to have the ability to drink clean water, a pump/well must be built. The cost of this ranges from $8,000 to $20,000 depending on the state/country. If many of us contribute money to this organization, they will have the ability to build these wells which can save the lives of about 500 people. To be an active participant of this, we can create fundraisers and tell many other people if they would like to contribute to the solution of this problem . A country that is being helped by this organization is Africa. Up to this date, I have not experienced lack of clean water near me or places I have visited.
I definitely view life differently as a result of knowing the great difference clean accessible water makes in someone's life because it makes me realize that I am very blessed to have access to clean water. I should take care of the water in which where I live because I never know when i will have no access to clean water. When I became aware of the negative effect of lack of clean accessible water, I felt the necessity to donate what I can because I knew it could make a difference in someone's life. I raised my dollar by simply looking for money around my house and asking my siblings for donations. I felt good asking people for donations because I knew it was for a good cause. The people were not curious to know where the money was going because I explained what it was for. I felt great knowing that the dollar I raised made a dramatic difference in someone's life because I contributed to giving someone clean, drinkable water.
